The Cabinet for Economic Development is kicking off its 2010 Small Business Connections Forum Series in Russell Springs on Thursday, April 22.  The free conference will provide an opportunity for business owners in the Lake Cumberland Area Development District to learn about federal, state and local resource organizations that provide financing, marketing and other services to help small businesses grow.

The Commonwealth of Kentucky Minority and Women Business Enterprise Certification Program

The objective of the Minority and Women Business Enterprise Certification Program is to encourage growth among Kentucky businesses owned by women and minorities and to assist those businesses in locating and obtaining further business opportunites. The certification will also allow minority and women businesses to complete for work in states outside of the Commonwealth of Kentucky that require certification by a statewide body. The establishment of a state Certification Program is a critical step toward creating, maintaining, and promoting Kentucky's valuable women and minority owned businesses.
